Particle board core materials in the cabinet making industry

Particle board has gotten a bad rap over the years because it used to be associated with cheap furniture falling apart that was full of Formaldehyde. The truth about today’s particle board is it’s actually used in more ways than most people are aware of (because it’s not falling apart and the use of Formaldehyde is greatly reduced).

Particle board can be veneered with real wood or Melamine products with matching edge banding and other laminates that make it very difficult for the average consumer to tell that it’s not real wood. It’s made with better glue formulas that use little or no added Formaldehyde. It’s one of the most ecological ways to produce cabinets because it’s made with waste lumber that years ago would have ended up in a landfill. Use of particle board core products reduce deforestation which can certainly make an impact on global warming.

Particle board core materials are used extensively in the cabinet manufacturing industry and are responsible for helping keep consumer prices affordable and quality of the finished product up.
